Professor Mathews' research interests primarily
involve the theory and
applications of digital signal processing. In particular, he, his
students and his collaborators have contributed to adaptive filters and
nonlinear system
analysis and design, perceptually-tuned signal processing, and the
applications
of these techniques in biomedicine, high-speed communication systems,
aerospace
and audio and image processing. A brief description of their
contributions and
activities can be found in the following links.
