The Admissions Process

Students applying for the MS/MBA Program should meet the following minimum requirements:

• Four-year technical Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
• Undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or above
• Have competitive standardized test results

Applications will be reviewed three times - once individually for each program and again a third time for the dual program. Students may therefore be admitted to one program but not another program, to both programs individually but not to the combined program, or even rarely to the combined program but to neither individual program alone. Only those admitted to the dual program will be allowed to complete both the MS and MBA degrees in the 21-24 month timeframe.

Applying

Due to the three-fold application review, proper admission to the program will require students to apply to the programs separately and to the University of Utah Graduate School.

3. ECE Department Graduate Application

Applicants with work experience (including internships) will be given admission preference in admission in the MBA program. Applicants with undergraduate experience in engineering or the technical sciences will be given preference in admission in the MS program.
