PRE-ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS

ATTENTION PRE-ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS

Starting Fall 2003, you may take Math 1250, 1260 to replace
the calculus sequence Math 1210, 1220, 2210
(8 credit hours instead of 11 credit hours)

Math 1250—Calculus for AP Students I (4)
Math 1260—Calculus for AP Students II (4)

To register for Math 1250, a student must:

Score a 4 or 5 on the AB Calculus exam
OR
Score 3 or above on the BC Calculus exam
OR
Have an ACT math score of 27 or above
AND
Be an engineering major.

Students who are placed on the basis of their AP exam have the choice of 1250-1, 2, or 3. Students who are placed solely based on their ACT score will not have the option of sections 1 or 2.

Students who do not meet the criteria but are close may talk to David Dobson (dobson@math.utah.edu, 585-7660) or Ken Golden (golden@math.utah.edu, 581-6176) to see if they may take 1250-3.

Permission numbers for all three sections of Math 1250 may be obtained by contacting Angie Gardiner, 585-9478, gardiner@math.utah.edu.
