FY 07 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)
The research assistantship includes a full tuition waiver and a stipend of $11,400 or more. Students, including international students, who meet admission requirements, are invited to apply.
Applicants for the graduate program should have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA or a minimum of 3.5 graduate GPA. Scores from the general test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and three letters of recommendation are required. International students must have a minimum score of 560 on the TOEFL.
Degrees generally considered as acceptable preparation for research in our department include a degree (either BS or MS) in electrical and computer engineering, bioengineering, physics, or mathematics from an accredited institution.

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) provides undergraduate students and faculty members the opportunity to work together on research or creative projects. UROP provides assistantships up to $1050 per semester to a student who assists with a faculty member's research or creative project, or who carries out a project of her/his own under the supervision of a faculty member. Students may apply for a UROP assistantship for any semester (summer included), and are eligible to apply for a one semester renewal of their assistantship.
