Red Mountain, Feb. 13, 2005

 

In February my brother Trev was able to come out and visit us in Seattle, since the company he used to work for in Vancouver had flown him out to do some work for them.  On Sunday we wanted to get out and do something in the mountains, but the weather didn’t look too good.  We decided to try it out anyways, and headed for Snoqualmie Pass to try and climb Red Mountain.  We didn’t anticipate there being too much snow, but there was a fair bit.  Luckily, for most of the approach there had been quite a few people before us, so it was pretty packed down.  After a bit of guesswork we ended up finding the right mountain, and after slogging through some waist deep snow on some third class slopes, we arrived at the summit.  It was pretty windy there, so we descended a few hundred feet to take some photos, shown below:
