Lynn Canyon, Vancouver, June 12, 2004

I was up visiting my brother Trev in Vancouver before he moved back to Ontario, and on Saturday we decided to hike/wade/swim up the lower Lynn canyon.  The first two shots show Trev hiking up the river before the real business started, and contemplating some scrambling along wet rock over fast, cold water.

The next shots show me thinking about wading across the river, and wading across the river (not falling over, even though it may look like it).

It was pretty rainy and dismal and not particularly warm out, so we were no relishing the impending swim in cold meltwater.  The sequence below shows Trev sizing up the first swim, then going for it.  It wasn't very long, but the extreme cold more than made up for the brevity.

Victorious!  Now my turn!

Here are mugshots of the successful river goers.  It took us about 3 hours total, to complete the mixture of swimming, wading, and scrambling.  It was a lot of fun, and would have been even better in warmer weather on a nice day.  After finishing, we hiked back to the car and drove to Trev's apartment and made buffalo burgers.
