Impromptu Speaking on RF Safety

Review of Radiation Effects  

 

1)      Prepare a 3 minute presentation (just verbal, no slides required) about some aspect of EM safety.  Take a “stand” on an issue and defend it.  Use the material given above (or anything else you wish … more information can be found: HERE )

2)      Give your presentation at least once over the Thanksgiving Break to an audience (of at least one person) who is NONTECHNICAL.  Family members, roommates, friends, or a person at the grocery store / library / union building are all OK.  You can start your presentation with “You will never believe the crazy assignment we have to do over the break ….” if you want to ;)

3)      Encourage your audience to ask questions, and write down the question(s) they ask. Answer them as best you can, but mostly I want you to collect the types of questions asked or issues raised by a nontechnical person. 

4)      BRING your questions to class.  The person with the MOST questions will receive a prize.  To get the most questions, find a controversial person, get a large audience, or give the presentation several times to different audiences.
