Electrical and Computer Engineering’s Maddie Porter, an undergraduate academic advisor, has won the “Ivory Award for Student Success.”
The Ivory Award shows that ECE students have access to high-quality assistance in building a roadmap for their education.
“My goal as an advisor is to always support my students as much as possible in any capacity. It’s important to me that each person knows that I am here to support their goals, ambitions and dreams with a provided roadmap that makes all things attainable,” Maddie Porter says.

Maddie Porter understands why meeting with an advisor is for your benefit.
“Academic advisors in any degree are there for students to help them schedule courses, understanding degree requirements, assist in career pathways and help with academic challenges. For myself, I always want to be an advocate for my students to help them adjust to the college environment and connect them to any resources that would be beneficial,” she says.
