Pratishtha Agnihotri, a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been awarded the European Test Symposium 2025 Outstanding Presentation Award for the paper “Design-for-Test and Calibration for Silicon Photonics using Ring Resonators and Wavelength Division Multiplexing,” for which she was the First Author. Her paper presents a technique to perform online tests of phototonic circuits, which are microchips that work with light (photons).
The co-authors of the paper are Lawrence Schlitt, Priyank Kalla, and Steve Blair. The paper is connected to Agnihotri’s PhD research with Professors Kalla and Blair, to enhance testing for manufacturing defects in photonic integrated circuits.
Agnihotri said she was “more than happy” to receive the honor. She also said that “recognition at such as esteemed level boosts confidence.”
The award recognizes the efforts of PhD students in presenting regular papers at the European Test Symposium.
Agnihotri said she plans to continue researching phototonics as a postdoc.
The award was bestowed in Tallinn, Estonia on May 29, 2025, during the closing session of the symposium.
Pratishtha was also nominated for the McCluskey Best Doctoral Thesis Award at the 2025 European Test Symposium.
