The University of Utah’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is an educational institution that is developing cutting-edge technologies for the future. This is why ECE offers world-class labs on topics our students can get excited about. High quality teaching and hands-on laboratory experience are vital to Electrical and Computer Engineering students. From communications, control systems, and system design, to semiconductors, microwaves, optics, and more, our labs give students the tools and knowledge they need. Whether students are designing the next generation of resilient and sustainable power systems in the Utah Smart Energy Laboratory or enhancing device performance and functionality of nanotechnology in the NanoEngineering Research Lab, Utah students are working to solve some of the biggest problems facing the world today.
