Electrical Engineering Students

EE Majors and participation in the Clinic Program

The Engineering Clinic Program does not replace curriculum requirements for any major. Instead, it fits into the existing curriculum in the following way:

According to the Electrical Engineering major handbook, EE majors must complete:

  1. ECE 3900 – Junior Seminar
  2. ECE 4900 – Senior Design I
  3. ECE 4910 – Senior Design II

Registration Timeline

During ECE 3900 (spring semester, junior year), students will register for their senior projects. This early registration allows students to know and prepare for their actual senior projects as they complete course curriculum related to the fundamentals of project planning: scoping, group selection, risk assessment, scheduling, backup planning, strategy, etc.

Students then enroll for ECE 4900/4910 during their senior year as they complete their Clinic projects. During this time, they will complete the senior project writing and communication requirements outlined here.
