Faculty Openings
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Utah has experienced significant recent growth, fueled in part by strong support from the State of Utah. The Department currently has 33 tenured and tenure-track faculty, has had annual research expenditures as high as $11M, and has approximately 120 doctoral students enrolled. Current ECE faculty have founded or co-founded several successful companies, in line with the unique entrepreneurial spirit at the University of Utah, which has been consistently ranked as one of the top schools for startup creation. The Department attracts world-class students and faculty. We are known for innovation and collaboration, and the Department has strong ties to the medical community and industry. Salt Lake City has an outstanding quality of life and natural beauty; seven world-class ski resorts are within a one-hour drive, and Utah has five national parks.
The Department seeks applications to fill multiple tenure-track positions at all levels in the key areas of power/controls, communications/signal processing, and computer engineering/embedded systems. In addition, we have one or more positions for outstanding candidates in all areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering who will further strengthen the Department. Faculty responsibilities include developing and maintaining an internationally recognized research program, effective classroom teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and professional service.
